Microsoft to livestream Titanfall Austin launch event

Company also planning launch events across Europe, Canada, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand

Microsoft will livestream an Austin, Texas Titanfall launch event at South by Southwest on March 10 in the build up to the highly anticipated game's midnight launch.

Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella and community manager Abbie Heppe will be in attendance, along with other developers, fans and Xbox corporate vice president Yusuf Mehdi. There'll be gameplay, giveaways and a performance by Childish Gambino.

Attendance will be on a first come, first served basis, but those who can't make it can view a Twitch live broadcast of the celebrations on from 10pm-2am CT.

Microsoft says 6,000 US retailers will be opening their doors at midnight to begin the selling the game as early as possible on March 11.

The company also says it's planning to announce "launch celebrations" across Europe, Canada, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand.

On Monday, Microsoft announced a limited edition Xbox One Titanfall console bundle. Set for release globally, it features special edition Titanfall packaging, an Xbox One console, Kinect sensor, standard wireless controller and chat headset, one month Xbox Live Gold membership and a digital copy of Respawn's shooter.

While publisher EA has confirmed a PC and Xbox One Titanfall release date of March 11 in North America and March 13 in Europe, the Xbox 360 version, which is being handled by Bluepoint Games, was recently delayed until March 25 in the US and March 28 in Europe.
