Ubisoft has confirmed plans to release a retail version of Child of Light, which was previously planned for a digital-only release.
The retail bound 'Deluxe Edition', which will be released in UK and "other EMEA territories" only, will pack exclusive content and arrives in shops specifically for PS4, PS3 and PC on the same day as the digital release, April 30. There's no word on physical retail offerings for the Wii U or Xbox versions.
The Deluxe Edition bonus content includes a poster designed by Japanese artist Yoshitaka Amano, a 24-page art book, and an "Igniculus key ring". In-game bonuses will include an additional quest, a new character and a "pack of collectibles". The announcement was no more specific than that.
Accompanying today's announcement is a new trailer showing off co-op gameplay, viewable above.
Announced in September 2013, the Ubisoft Montreal title was helmed by creative director and Assassin's Creed veteran Patrick Plourde, and is powered by Rayman Legends' UbiArt Framework engine.
According to the official description, the game is a "reimagining of classic fairytales, inviting players on an epic adventure into the magical painted world of Lemuria. Players will uncover mysteries, participate in turn-by-turn combat inspired by classic JRPGs, and explore a mystical kingdom."
As previously confirmed, the game will be released via digital download channels on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, Wii U and PC for £11.99/$14.99.
