Criterion founders form new indie studio Three Fields Entertainment

UK company "will make games for all platforms where we can self-publish"

Criterion Games co-founders Alex Ward and Fiona Sperry have announced the formation of a new British independent development studio called Three Fields Entertainment.

Ward and Sperry confirmed their departure from EA-owned Criterion in early January, when Ward said the pair intended to "start afresh and form a new games company".

Three Fields Entertainment founder and creative director Ward announced the formation of the new studio on Twitter on Wednesday with a link to the company's website.

"We will make games for all platforms where we can self-publish," he said, although Wii U development "probably" isn't on the cards.

Ward also said the studio is based somewhere in Surrey, "maybe", and is actively recruiting: "We are looking for talented staff who are skilled in at least three fields of creating electronic entertainment."

In their previous roles at Criterion, Ward served as vice president and creative director of the Surrey, UK-based studio best known for its work on the racing series Burnout, while Sperry was studio director.
