Watch Dogs creative director explains longer Wii U delay

Game will feature eight player free roam mode, live developer Q&A session also being held today

Watch Dogs creative director Jonathan Morin has moved to explain the extended delay to the Wii U version of the game.

On Monday, Ubisoft confirmed a Watch Dogs release date of May 27 on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC, with the Wii U version set to "release at a later date".

Morin also confirmed that the game will feature multiplayer open world free roaming for up to eight players.

Further details about the game's multiplayer features are expected to emerge this evening when the Watch Dogs development team hosts a live Q&A on Ubisoft's Twitch.tv channel. Morin, lead game designer Danny Bélanger and animation director Colin Graham will be taking questions from the community from 8pm UK / 12pm PST.

The highly anticipated open-world game was originally scheduled for release in November, but it was delayed due to quality concerns.
