New video and concept images of Keiji Inafunes spiritual successor to Mega Man, Mighty No. 9, offer an inside look at an early version of the game, and reveals protagonist Beck's flamboyant stage entry sequence.
The video is an extended version of a previously released clip showing Inafune going hands-on with an early version of his debut indie title. It contains over three minutes of gameplay footage.
In addition, four new images show how the lead robot, Beck, will make his entry into each of the game's levels; with a spectacular teleportation sequence. View the images in the gallery below:
Mighty No.9 is Inafune's first indie project, a modernised spiritual successor to Mega Man that was confirmed for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, Xbox One and PS4 systems following a huge backing for the game on Kickstarter.
Mighty No. 9 follows the story of Beck - a character with a reconfigurable body who bears a striking resemblance to the Mega Man character. It is said the new game "takes the best aspects of the 8- and 16-bit era classics you know and love, and transforms them with modern tech, fresh mechanics, and fan input into something fresh and amazing".
Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune used his DICE Summit 2014 keynote in February to reveal the game's final character, Mighty No.7. He was described as a ninja character with a sharp, scissor-inspired face mask that can be removed, and twin blades in each hand.
