New ultra-thin Razer Blade laptops revealed

Razer updates its high-end gaming laptop line up

Gaming PC hardware firm Razer has revealed its latest lineup of gaming laptops, an all-new Razer Blade and a more powerful iteration of the current Razer Blade Pro.

At 0.7-inches thin, the Razor Blade features an improved 14 inch screen pushing a super high resolution of 3200x1800 (262 PPI). The display boasts a "250 percent increase in contrast ratio over its predecessor", and brighter LED backlighting. It's also a 10-point capacitive multi-touch screen, that works with Windows 8's touch-operated interface.

Starting at $2,199.99, the Blade laptop promises frame rates "70 percent better" than the previous iteration with the GeForce GTX 870M GPU.

Meanwhile, the Blade Pro packs a 17-inch LED display, along with a secondary touch display on the keyboard "full Internet capabilities", and the Razer Switchblade User Interface - an array of display-equipped keys that offer user-defined shortcuts to program tools, macros, key binds and other customizable functions.

The higher-end laptop comes in at 0.88 inches thin and 6.5 pounds, and starts at $2,299.99.
