'Forza Deep South' concept art spotted

Report suggests images may hint at an unannounced Forza Horizon sequel

Concept art for something called Forza Deep South has been spotted online.

IGN uncovered the pair of images in question on the personal website of Sumeet Surve, an artist at an Indian production house called Dhurva Interactive. The studio has previously created vehicles and other art assets for Forza titles including Forza Horizon and Forza Motorsport 4.

The concept art, which now appears to have been taken offline, shows cars racing through what could be the Louisiana bayou. Approached by IGN, Microsoft declined to comment on the images and their possible link to an in-development game.

Developed by UK based Playground Studios in collaboration with series creator Turn 10, October 2012's Forza Horizon was set on the open roads of Colorado.

In July 2013, a number of job ads posted on Playground's website stated that the company was staffing up for work on what was described as a "visually stunning", "genre-leading" racing game.

The following month, the LinkedIn profile of a technical artist at Playground stated that, since January 2013, the developer had been working on "an undisclosed next-gen Forza project".

The most recent entry in the series was November 2013's Xbox One launch title Forza Motorsport 5.
