Titanfall debuted at No.1 on the UK all formats all prices chart during the week ended March 15.
Retail monitor Chart Track said the EA published shooter became the biggest release of 2014 to date. Xbox One and PC versions of Respawn Entertainment's debut game launched on Friday, with the console version accounting for 94 per cent of first week sales. An Xbox 360 edition is set for release at the end of March.
Namco Bandai's Xbox 360 and PS3 title Dark Souls 2 debuted at No.2 on the chart, enjoying a 20 per cent increase in week one sales over its predecessor.
South Park: The Stick of Truth slipped two places to No.3, while The Lego Movie held firm at No.4 and Thief rounded off the top five.
Outside the top ten, 3DS exclusive Yoshi's New Island debuted at No.12. Chart Track said the title recorded the third biggest week one sales for a Yoshi title behind Yoshi's Island DS and Yoshi's Story 64.
