Fantasia: Music Evolved will include a multiplayer mode and several modern and classic melodies, Harmonix announced Monday.
The multiplayer mode is played both collaboratively and competitively between two players. The highest-scoring conductor at any given "remix path" can choose which direction to take the song - GamesRadar has more details in its Fantasia multiplayer preview.
Harmonix also announced five new tracks for the game: "Ziggy Stardust" by David Bowie, "Symphony No. 9 from the new World" by Antonin Dvorak, "Royals" by Lorde, "Super Bass" by Nicki Minaj, and "Seven Nation Army" by The White Stripes.
Finally, Harmonix also revealed Fantasia's second "interactive discovery realm," called The Hollow. The mysterious forest reacts to individual songs, with enough magical wildlife cantering and/or flitting by to satisfy any Disney royalty, as demonstrated in the video below.
The studio, which is best known for creating the Rock Band and Dance Central series, suffered a small number of layoffs in December.
Fantasia is coming to Xbox One and Xbox 360 in 2014. Music-driven FPS Chroma is Harmonix's only other currently announced project.
