Update: The Xbox One version of Naval Strike has also been delayed.
While the game's third expansion will launch today on Xbox and PlayStation systems as planned, the PC release has been pushed back to an unspecified date.
"We are delaying the launch of Battlefield 4 Naval Strike on PC," DICE confirmed. "We've detected an issue and it needs to be solved. Quality is our number one priority and we will not release Battlefield 4 Naval Strike on PC until we feel it meets the highest quality level possible.
"We are also working on a larger update to release alongside Battlefield 4 Naval Strike on PC that will address the issue of Tablet Commander not working correctly. Once we have a confirmed date for PC, we'll be sure to update those players on our official channels. We appreciate your patience and look forward to seeing everyone on the Battlefield."
The Naval combat expansion includes four new competitive multiplayer maps set in the South China Sea: Lost Islands, Nansha Strike, Wave Breaker and Operation Mortar. It also introduces five new weapons, the amphibious hovercraft vehicle, ten assignments and the new Carrier Assault mode, which is an homage to Battlefield 2142's Titan mode.
Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 and PS4 Battlefield Premium members will receive early access to the content today, two weeks before the add-on pack goes on general sale on April 8.
