DayZ standalone sales now over 1.7 million

While Arma 2 mod downloads pass 2 million milestone

Bohemia Interactive has managed to sell around 1.7 million copies of the standalone DayZ game.

That's according to DayZ creator Dean Hall, who shared the figure at the EGX Rezzed 2014 event in UK on Friday.

Hall also revealed that the original DayZ Arma 2 mod has passed 2 million copies, reports Eurogamer. The developer also laid out plans to release an update in late April adding respawning for loot, new fireplaces for cooking, and a crossbow weapon.

Beyond that Hall spoke of plans for a move to a 64-bit version, a new pistol, new prototype animals, physics improvements, mod support, small vehicles such as bikes and cars, crop harvesting and more.

Bohemia Interactive CEO Marek Spanel announced in January over a million Early Access sales of its zombie survival game.

The standalone alpha version of the perma-death zombie survival game released on Steam Early Access and via Bohemia Interactive's online store on December 16.

The game quickly hit 172,500 in the game's first 24 hours of availability and had topped 800,000 sales by January 6, according to the game's developer.

The Alpha version of the game has been available to buy on Steam for a cost of £19.99 / €23.99 / $29.99.
