Metro next-gen remasters rumoured

'Metro Redux' package may bundle first two games in the shooter series and DLC

Remastered versions of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light are rumoured to be set for release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Alleged box art and details for a product titled 'Metro Redux' were posted on an Italian video games forum over the weekend. They have since been removed, but can be viewed below courtesy of AGB.

UPDATE: Deep Silver has confirmed Metro Redux.

According to the images, Metro Redux will include the first two games in the post apocalyptic shooter series as well as DLC. CVG has contacted publisher Deep Silver to enquire about the rumoured remasters and any plans it may have to bring the Metro series to next-gen consoles.

CVG's 9/10 Metro 2033 review called the 2010 game "a brilliantly atmospheric shooter with forgivably imperfect gunplay," while our 8/10 Metro Last Light review labelled 2013's sequel "a refreshing change from more traditional first-person shooters".

Last year's game was expanded with four post-release Metro Last Light DLC packs. The Faction Pack added new single-player missions, the Tower Pack introduced single-player challenges with online leaderboards, the Developer Pack featured a shooting gallery and combat simulator, while the Chronicles Pack added further single-player missions.
