Nintendo reveals 'Mickey Edition' 3DS XL for US

Releases April 11 alongside Disney Magical World

Nintendo has revealed a new 'Mickey Edition' 3DS XL for North America.

The new console features a white case with iconic Mickey art printed in gold and will arrive in Wal-Mart stores and the Nintendo World Store on April 11, alongside the game Disney Magical World.

Nintendo didn't include pricing in its announcement, but 3DS XL units current go for $199.

This is one of two handhelds the firm is releasing in collaboration with Disney Magical World, the other being the $129 GameStop-exclusive 'Peach Pink' 2DS announced last week. Neither systems will come with a copy of the game.

The 3DS game lets players move into a world filled with familiar Disney cartoons. Once there, players can make friends with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and more, and participate in activities which range from fashion designing, to fishing, to cafe management, to ballroom dancing, to ghost hunting.

Disney Magical World will release on eShop and in retail on April 11 in North America. Plans for a European release have not been announced.

Namco Bandai published Disney Magical World in Japan in 2013, where it sold more than 500,000 copies. Nintendo took over publishing duties for the game's North American release.
