Yoshitaka Amano's designs inspired the early (and yes, we would say best) days of the Final Fantasy series.
Even rendered as blocky little pixel portraits alongside the menu screen, each character commanded an unnerving degree of attention. Amano's pen and brush defined characters that still resonate today, so it makes sense that Ubisoft wanted to borrow some of that power for its JRPG-inspired Child of Light.
Unfortunately, it was just for a bonus poster that comes with Child of Light Deluxe Edition, not for full-blown design work. But it's still enthralling to Amano's ethereal lines form into the shape of main character Aurora before your eyes.
Child of Light will release on April 30, via digital download channels on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, Wii U and PC for £11.99/$14.99. The deluxe retail edition will be exclusive to PS3, PS4, and PC.
