New Smash Bros. 4 characters have been announced during a Nintendo Direct presentation today, including Yoshi and Pokemon pair Charizard and Greninja.
Sheik and Zero Suit Samus, who previously appeared as alternate forms for Princess Zelda and Samus in earlier Smash Bros. games, will now have their own dedicated spots on the roster.
Yoshi will feature a new upright stance with a tweaked moveset, Nintendo said, while Zero Suit Samus has been given jet boots and Sheik has new Burst Grenade and Bouncing Fish moves.
Greninja is the final evolution of Froakie from Pokémon X and Pokémon Y and will feature as a playable character for the first time in Smash Bros.
Nintendo used its Tuesday Direct to announce that Smash Bros. 4 will release first on Nintendo 3DS this summer (winter in Australia), followed by the Wii U version in Winter.
The company also teased the ability for players to add their own nuances to fighters with new 'custom move sets', usable in local play and online multiplayer with friends.
Several characters will make their Smash Bros. debut in the fourth installment, including the Animal Crossing Villager, Mega Man, Wii Fit Trainer, Punch-Out's Little Mac and Rosalina and Luma from Super Mario Galaxy.
