Bethesda has released a new The Evil Within trailer.
The trailer shows the game's protagonist, detective Sebastian Castellanos, making his way through Beacon Mental Hospital in the upcoming survival-horror from Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami's Tango Gameworks.
It provides brief glimpses of some seriously nasty inhabitants, including a lady with a mirror face, blood-soaked butchers, giant demons, axe-wielding monsters and more.
The Evil Within story begins when "a mysterious and powerful force" brutally kills Sebastian's colleagues and knocks him unconscious. When he wakes up he finds himself in "a deranged world where hideous creatures wander among the dead".
In our first The Evil Within preview we said the game "is a welcome return to survival horror. It mixes the over-the-shoulder combat (and chainsaw-wielding nutters) of Resident Evil 4 with the grim, psychological horror of Silent Hill, and the id Tech-powered visuals are beautifully atmospheric."
Bethesda has confirmed The Evil Within release date as August 29 in Europe and August 26 in North America. It will be available for PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
