A player has made over $100,000 creating in-game items for Sony Online Entertainment titles, the studio's president has confirmed.
SOE's John Smedley revealed the news during a preview of upcoming survival horror MMO H1Z1 on Game Talk Live.
Smedley was asked if the game would feature support for Player Studio, SOE's dedicated software that allows users to create their own in-game items with Photoshop and Maya and sell them through in-game marketplaces.
He confirmed that it would, adding: "In fact, we just had our first player create $100,000 from items."
H1Z1 is a zombie-survival MMO currently in development at SOE. According to Smedley, players will be able to play the game "fully" soon.
The first-person title will feature a day-night cycle which will make survivors use light sources to find their way around in a similar fashion to DayZ.
Additionally, players will be able to burn down trees and other parts of the environment, greatly affecting how others experience the game.
