Elite Dangerous premium beta costs £100

Single player combat build out now ahead of full release in late May

Frontier Developments has launched phase one of the Elite Dangerous beta.

The Elite Dangerous premium beta is priced at £100. An early access single player combat build is available now, ahead of a full release on May 30.

Premium beta customers get:

  • Immediate access to download a Single Player Combat build to develop your Sidewinder skills before the first Premium Beta build is released
  • Automatic access all the Beta development stages
  • Automatic access to all major downloadable expansion packs as they are released
  • A download copy of the released game

Frontier raised more than £1.5 million on Kickstarter to fund development of Elite Dangerous.

In December 2013, the studio launched phase one of the Elite Dangerous alpha, offering consumers the first public hands-on access to the game for an upfront payment of £200. The alpha is only available on PC and runs until April 25.

Access to the Elite Dangerous standard beta costs £50, while the final game is priced at £35 ahead of its release later this year. The title will be available on PC first and Mac three months later.
