Stylized turn-based assassination game Hitman GO will launch on iOS devices on April 17.
Square Enix Montreal's first completed project, Hitman GO abstracts the franchise's stealth mechanics into a series of tile-based maps built in the style of plastic diorama kits.
The game will cost $4.99/£2.99/€4.49 and Android versions are planned to release "shortly after", according to the Hitman series' official website.
Hitman GO includes 68 unlockable levels, one of which is inspired by Hitman: Blood Money's "Curtains Down" level.
"We had total creative freedom to explore this and see what we could come up with - something separate to the AAA game that is being developed at [IO Interactive], but something which still retained the essence of what a Hitman game is," Square Enix Montreal wrote for its announcement. "This was a lot of fun and we decided to develop something quite different and, we hope, totally unexpected."
Another Hitman game in development at Square Enix Montreal was rumored to be canceled in January. Owner Square Enix did not deny the reports, but said that a previously announced "AAA Hitman game" is still in development at its home studio of IO Interactive.
