DICE investigating Battlefield 4 'Death Shield' bug

Revivable bodies found to act as invisible shields for projectiles

DICE is investigating what has become known online as the Battlefield 4 'Death Shield' bug.

As explained in the video below (via MP1st), the bug in question occurs when a revivable body acts as an invisible shield for projectiles.

The issue was brought to the attention of Jaqub Ajmal, QA project lead at DICE, who said the studio is "looking into it and will bug it".

DICE said earlier this month that it was planning to upgrade its hardware to improve server performance and resolve Battlefield 4 rubber-banding issues, with lag affecting users on certain platforms during 64-player matches.

"As soon as we know the exact timetable, we'll let you know the ETA," it said. "Reducing lag for these players is absolutely a TOP priority for us to solve and we expect to have the solution very soon."

DICE released the latest Battlefield 4 DLC pack, Naval Strike, in late March. The expansion includes four new competitive multiplayer maps set in the South China Sea: Lost Islands, Nansha Strike, Wave Breaker and Operation Mortar. It also introduces five new weapons, the amphibious hovercraft vehicle, ten assignments and the new Carrier Assault mode, which is an homage to Battlefield 2142's Titan mode.
