Dark Souls 2 PC retail release delayed in UK

Digital plans and retail elsewhere unaffected

Dark Souls 2's PC release will continue on time, except for a week delay to its boxed edition in the UK.

Bandai Namco UK confirmed to Joystiq Tuesday that emails from UK retailers indicating Dark Souls 2 orders had been delayed to May 2 were accurate.

"It will be delayed unfortunately and we apologize to UK customers," a Bandai Namco representative said. "This is due to a manufacturing issue with packaging. To confirm, this will only affect the UK boxed launch."

The PC version of Dark Souls 2 will enable tweaking a number of graphical options, including texture resolution, shadow quality, effects, model quality and motion blur.

In our console review of Dark Souls 2, we said "its layers of depth, and colossal scope for challenge, community and discovery, is a gaming event of such impact it'll be referred to time and time again for years to come."

Dark Souls 2 is set for digital release on April 25.
