Xbox One Japan launch confirmed for September 4

Over 40 companies have confirmed support for the console in Japan

Xbox One will launch in Japan on September 4, Microsoft has confirmed.

Titles confirmed for release in Japan include Forza Motorsport 5, Kinect Sports Rivals, Sunset Overdrive, Halo 5, Dead Rising 3 and Ryse: Son of Rome.


Meanwhile, Square Enix has confirmed it will locally release titles including Tomb Raider, Murdered: Soul Suspect, Thief and Call of Duty: Ghosts. Square Enix distributes the Call of Duty series in Japan.

The news, originating from Famitsu and translated by Gematsu, also comes with the promise of extensive Japanese support for the platform by more than 40 games companies, with a full list below:

Microsoft announced last week that it has shipped over 5 million units worldwide, with 311,000 units sold in the US in March.

Xbox One launched in Australia, North America and the UK on November 22.
