Daylight, the new procedurally-generated first-person horror game from Atlus, hits PS4 and PC in US today, April 29, and Europe tomorrow.
The occasion is being marked not only with a launch trailer, which you can see below, but also with a launch-week discount for PS4; normally $14.99/£12.79/€14.99, the game will be purchasable at $9.59/£8.20/€9.59 for PS+ subscribers ($11.99/£10.25/€11.99 for non-Plus users) until May 13 in US (May 14 in EU).
Developed by Zombie Studios, Daylight is a procedurally generated thriller where each new playthrough will present new levels, scares and puzzles.
As Atlus explains, the game sees you take control of Sarah Gwynn, "a girl who mysteriously wakes up in the abandoned Mid Island Hospital. Exits throughout areas of the hospital are sealed off with rune inscribed doors that can only be opened with unique relics. Each relic ties into the facility's dark past, but they will only appear once you've uncovered enough of Mid Island's sadistic history."
In a first for the PS4, Daylight will allow Twitch users to trigger in-game events in other players' games using commands in the chat field.
"The game taps into the chat channel of your stream and viewers can type keywords to cue in-game events," explained Atlus. "For example, typing "meow" into the Twitch chat would make the game generate the sound of a cat. We're not giving out the list of keywords though; you'll have to find those out for yourself."
