GameSpy closure impacts GTA IV, Max Payne 3, other Rockstar games

Dev confirms most online MP modes will survive server migration

Rockstar has issued a statement detailing the affects that the impending GameSpy server closure will have on some of its older titles.

It has confirmed that, while the majority of its games' online multiplayer experiences will go unaffected, several Social Club features and other online options will be cut when the GameSpy servers go down on May 31.

"While Grand Theft Auto V is unaffected, our teams are currently working to patch specific older titles to keep the transition as smooth as possible and minimize the impact on online-enabled play and your in-game experience," said the developer.

"The majority of changes will be in the form of Rockstar Social Club services, including stat tracking and leaderboards. Unfortunately, it will be necessary to bid farewell to certain online features in older games."

Rockstar shared the below table, which offers a simple breakdown of the games impacted by the transition and what features will be lost.
