The game was due to release in US both via retail and the digital PlayStation Store today, May 6. While the retail release has gone ahead, Sony has announced that the digital release has hit a last minute roadblock.

"Due to unforeseen technical issues, MLB 14 The Show for PS4 is not currently available for download via the PlayStation Store," said the firm in a notice today.

"All parties are working as quickly as possible to remedy the issue. We'll update this post as soon as a resolution is reached. Thank you for your continued patience," it added.

The game released in April on PS3 and Vita. A previously-released MLB 14 The Show gameplay video showed off all of this year's new gameplay features and improvements.
