Halo TV show to air on Showtime before Xbox, report claims

Microsoft said to be in negotiations to partner with cable network

Microsoft is reportedly planning to bring its live-action Halo television series to cable network Showtime.

Variety claims that although the details are still being worked out, the current plan is that new episodes will air on Showtime before they do on Xbox platforms.

Microsoft recently dubbed its upcoming selection of exclusive entertainment shows Xbox Originals.

Featuring "interactive capabilities, as well as unique interactive features customised on a per-show basis", the programming will debut in June on Xbox 360, Xbox One and other Microsoft devices.

Microsoft first announced a Halo TV series in May 2013, when it revealed that it would be executive produced by Steven Spielberg.

It also recently confirmed that a separate "digital feature" based on Halo is in development, with Ridley Scott taking on executive producer duties.
