Wolfenstein The New Order 'offers lots of replay value'

Game will run at 60fps/1080p on PC, PS4 and Xbox One

Wolfenstein: The New Order has been designed to offer plenty of replay value, according to Jens Matthies, creative director at MachineGames.

Posting in a Reddit AMA about the game, which is exclusively a single player experience, he said that a single run through could take 20 hours.

"We've built in lots of replay value," Matthies said. "Most notably the player makes a choice early on the outcome of which opens up an alternate timeline which changes the vibe of the story. It's recommended to do a second play through and see what would have happened if you chose differently.

"If you collect everything and explore everywhere I think a single play through could end up close to 20 hours," he added. "But there's also lots of incentive to make a second play through, especially to explore the alternate timeline."

Matthies also said that the PC, PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game "will run with minimal visual disparity at 60fps/1080p on all platforms".

Publisher Bethesda recently brought forward the European and Australian Wolfenstein The New Order release date to coincide with the game's North American launch on Tuesday May 20, 2014 on Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Those who pre-order the title will receive access to a post-launch Doom beta, which will only be available on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
