Andrew House and Mark Cerny to keynote at Develop 2014

Key Sony execs to discuss 20 years of PlayStation at Brighton conference

Longstanding PlayStation executives Andrew House and Mark Cerny have been confirmed as the keynote speakers for this year's Develop Conference in Brighton.

Develop 2014 takes place on July 8-10, with House and Cerny to provide the opening presentation that will set the tone for the rest of the conference.

The keynote, entitled 20 Years Of PlayStation, 40 Years Of Console Games And 100 Years To Come, looks back at the history of the PlayStation brand and how it "propelled console gaming into the mainstream".

The pair will also discuss what Sony has learnt in the past 20 years, explain how these learnings were applied to the development of the PlayStation 4, and give their predictions on what the future holds, both for the PlayStation 4 and the opportunities it presents, and the long-term direction of the games industry as a whole.

Mark Cerny

Andrew House has been a Sony employee for 24 years and became president and group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment in September 2011. He is responsible for the development and growth of the PlayStation business globally.

Mark Cerny was the lead system architect for the PlayStation 4 and has been heavily involved in game design and development since he originally joined Atari Games in 1982. He is best known for working on the likes of Marble Madness, Sonic 2, Crash Bandicoot, Jak & Daxter, Uncharted, Spyro The Dragon and Ratchet & Clank.
