Ridley Scott's Halo stars Mike Colter, report claims

American Horror Story actor reportedly joining live-action project

The Good Wife, American Horror Story and The Following star, Mike Colter, is reportedly set to star in Ridley Scott's live-action Halo digital feature, according to The Wrap.

Reports of a Ridley Scott produced Halo digital feature project first surfaced in April.

It was suggested the project will release later this year, produced by Scott and the president of Scott Free TV, David Zucker. Battlestar Galactica director Sergio Mimica-Gezzan will direct, in collaboration with 343 Industries and Xbox Entertainment Studios.

This project will apparently follow the format of the Forward Unto Dawn series. It is unrelated to the Steven Spielberg project announced at E3 2013 and will not feature Master Chief as the lead protagonist.

Further rumours suggest the Spielberg-produced series will be directed by Neil Blomkamp (District 9), who has previously worked on a series of promotional live-action shorts for the Halo series, and was poised to direct a film adaptation at one stage. This has not been verified.

Microsoft is reportedly planning to bring Spielberg and Blomkamp's Halo series to cable network Showtime. Although the details are still being worked out, the current plan is that new episodes will air on Showtime before they do on Xbox platforms.
