Far Cry 4 stars Kyrat visitor Ajay Ghale, who becomes locked in a battle with its totalitarian dictator, according to an alleged leak.
The plot information reportedly comes via a detailed pre-order page for that appeared on Ubisoft's web store. Although the page has since been reverted to the information revealed at the game's announcement last week, Only Single Player copied down the info from a cached version.
Hidden in the majestic Himalayas lies Kyrat, a country steeped in tradition and violence. You are Ajay Ghale. Traveling to Kyrat to fulfill your mother's dying wish, you find yourself caught up in a civil war to overthrow the oppressive regime of dictator Pagan Min.
Explore and navigate this vast open world, where danger and unpredictability lurk around every corner. Here, every decision counts, and every second is a story. Welcome to Kyrat.
Ubisoft expects Far Cry 4 to perform even better than Far Cry 3, which has sold 9 million units since it released in December 2012. The game trades the tropical jungles of previous games for the fictional Himalyan country of Kyrat.
CEO Yves Guillemot has said that Far Cry 4 will include "a lot more multiplayer" than its predecessor.
The Far Cry 4 release date is set for November 18 in North America and November 21 in Europe on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
