Demon's Souls creator Hidetaka Miyazaki has been promoted to president of From Software, the studio announced Wednesday.
Gamasutra reports that Miyazaki joined the company in 2004, where he created and directed the first two games and oversaw production on Dark Souls 2. He is also involved with another project, rumored to be related to the "Project Beast" concept and screenshots which surfaced early in May.
From Software and Miyazaki have kept quiet on the alleged "Project Beast" leak, however previous rumors indicate that the game may be a collaboration with Sony Computer Entertainment Japan headed to PS4.
The studio, which is otherwise known abroad for the Armored Core and Tenchu franchises, has also promoted Demon's Souls producer Masanori Takeuchi to senior managing director as part of wide-scale personnel changes at the studio.
Japanese media publisher Kadokawa announced that it had acquired From Software in April, partnering with in-house outfit Kadokawa Games. Kadokawa said it intends for the pair to produce new game IP aimed to further appeal to overseas markets
