The Ultra Street Fighter IV digital upgrade will not feature a previously announced update to Trials mode when it launches on June 3.
Designed to serve as a crash course in a character's capabilities, Street Fighter IV's Trial mode offers a series of challenges in which players must execute specific moves, setups or combos.
Although the original cast of fighters and those introduced in Super Street Fighter IV all have Trials, characters added in Arcade Edition - such as Yun, Yang, Oni and Evil Ryu - do not. Capcom announced plans to change this in Ultra by adding Trials for these characters, as well as newcomers Hugo, Elena, Rolento, Poison and Decapre.
Speaking to CVG, a Capcom representative has clarified that the new trials won't be available when the digital upgrade is launched.
"There will be no new trials available at the time of the Ultra Street Fighter IV digital upgrade launch," they said, "but stay tuned, as we'll have more news to share on this topic shortly after the digital upgrade version is released."
The latest revision to the game will arrive first via a digital upgrade for owners of Super Street Fighter IV and Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition. North American owners of the PS3 version can upgrade starting on June 3 and internationally on PS3 and Xbox 360 starting on June 4.
The all-in-one retail version will arrive for PS3 and Xbox 360 on August 5, along with a digital bundle for PS3. Both the upgrade and bundle will hit Steam on August 8.
On top of new characters and tweaks, the new version of Street Fighter IV will let players access battle logs for offline matches and play in training mode while waiting for online battle requests.
Those who pre-order the game will receive alternate costumes for Ultra Street Figther IV's new characters: Jungle Elena, Medieval Hugo, Pirate Poison, Wizard Rolento and Gladiator Decapre.
