Nintendo will partner with Best Buy to give gamers across the US an early sampling of Super Smash Bros. multiplayer battles during E3.
The companies announced Tuesday that they will host Super Smash Bros. Smash-Fest events at more than 100 Best Buy locations across the country. The events will be held on Wednesday, June 11 from 4 to 9pm local time, and on Saturday, June 14 from noon to 5pm local time.
The stores will host a four-player demo version of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, the same set to appear at Nintendo's E3 booth. Nintendo had a similar arrangement with the electronics retailer last year.
The first 70 customers who pre-order the game for Wii U or 3DS at each event will receive a collectible Super Smash Bros. gold coin, and all pre-orderers will get a $5 Best Buy reward certificate upon picking the game up at release.
The handheld edition is scheduled for release this summer, while the home console version will launch this winter.
