The PC version of Wolfenstein: The New Order has reportedly been illegally downloaded over 100,000 times.
The claim comes from copyright news site TorrentFreak, which reports that over 100,000 users completed a full torrent download of the game.
Despite this, it is also reported that a number of users were dissuaded from downloading the torrent because of the game's large file size. The New Order is a 43.65GB download.
TorrentFreak reports on a number of members of torrent site The Pirate Bay posting comments stating that they would rather buy the game than download a torrent of that size.
"43GB, the hell? No thanks, guess I will buy this when the price drops to £29.99," one was quoted as saying.
Another outlined the benefit of downloading via Steam's servers: "I was gonna get this torrent but I saw the size and how long it would take me to download it. I said 'f**k it, I'm getting it from Steam'. Took me two hours to download 40GB including the day one update."
CVG's Wolfenstein: The New Order review called the game "big and ballsy but with the brains to back it up".
