The nightmarish worlds of Tangiers show some of their unnerving secrets in a new trailer published Tuesday.
Cryptic messages are interspersed with gravity and logic-defying vistas, setting the stage for the strange game which was crowdfunded for £42,000 in August 2013 by Bristol-based developer Andalusian.
The avant-garde PC game is described by its creator, Alex Harvey, as a "dark, uneasy game - an exploration of broken cities and landscapes". He adds that the game takes the "sandbox stealth of Looking Glass Studio's Thief series" as a template and builds around it strikingly abstract worlds.
Tangiers is currently in development for Windows, Linux and Mac, with a projected release in the second half of 2014. It will also be coming to "a number of other, unannounced platforms", according to Harvey.
