Mortal Kombat 10 evidence mounts as poster goes viral

Creator Ed Boon seemingly confirms imminent announcement

Mortal Kombat series co-creator Ed Boon has lent credence to a leaked poster which apparently confirms the existence of a tenth game in the seires.

Following the appearance online of a poster bearing the Mortal Kombat logo, Ed Boon has implicitly confirmed the authenticity of the image on Twitter.

As the image went viral, Boon updated his Twitter avatar with a logo similar to that used in the poster, and uploaded an image identical to the 'Who's Next' text depicted in the poster.

"I don't suppose there's anything I can do to make you think we still MIGHT be announcing Injustice 2 in #five days is there," he later Tweeted. Injustice is NetherRealms' other major franchise.

Boon has been teasing Mortal Kombat 10 for several weeks now. Early in May he initiated a mysterious countdown to an unspecified announcement via Twitter.

The evidence suggests Boon and NetherRealms will announce the new game on June 2.

Earlier this year Kiefer Sutherland revealed that he had provided his voice to a forthcoming installment in the Mortal Kombat series.
