Microsoft issues Xbox Live service alert

Gaming and social features limited, Ubisoft games and FIFA 14 impacted

Microsoft is currently working to fix problems with Xbox Live connectivity.

The company has issued an Xbox Live service alert acknowledging that there are limited gaming and social features available on the online platform.

The ongoing issues surround joining other Xbox Live members in online games on both Xbox One and Xbox 360, as well as managing friends lists and tracking what other players are doing.

A statement posted at 5:19am GMT on Thursday also confirmed issues some users are experiencing using Uplay features in Ubisoft games.

"Hi Xbox members, are you having trouble using the Uplay feature on games like Watch Dogs, Trials Fusion, Child of Light, and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag? We are working with our partner to get the issue resolved as quickly as possible. Thanks for your patience. We'll update you on our progress as soon as we have more information."

Update: The following message was posted at 9:51am GMT: "Having some trouble playing FIFA 14 on the Xbox One? Our team is investigating the issue right now. Thanks for hanging in there while we work. Another update is coming your way in half an hour."
