Spec Ops: The Line devs tease E3 reveal

Yager's new project likely a F2P military shooter

Spec Ops: The Line studio Yager will debut a new game with publisher Grey Box at E3.

The project will belong to a new IP according to Yager's Twitter account. Grey Box is a new publisher which is also working on Petroglyph Games' Grey Goo.

Yager did not reveal any further details on the game, but job listings that surfaced in December 2013 indicate the studio is working on an "exciting new AAA F2P project" with designers needed for military armor, weaponry, and vehicles.

In March 2013, Epic Games announced that Yager was the first European independent studio to license Unreal Engine for a "major next-generation title to be unveiled in the coming months."

Yager first made reference to a new project in August 2012. A spokesperson for the studio noted that Spec Ops: The Line performed relatively poorly in retail, decreasing the likelihood of a sequel.

In our Spec Ops: The Line review we said that while Yager's shooter is "tonally confused across the board, it's not brainless".
