Samurai Warriors 4 releases in October

Co-op and Cross-Save across PS3, PS4, and Vita

Samurai Warriors 4 will release on PS3, PS4, and PS Vita on October 21 in North America and October 24 in Europe, Tecmo Koei announced Tuesday.

The publisher released the opening cinematic for the game ahead of its debut at E3 next week. Samurai Warriors 4 will mark the 10th anniversary for the series, which transplants the massive semi-historical battles of the Dynasty Warriors series from Three Kingdoms-era China to Warring States period Japan.

Carrying on the tradition of large playable rosters, Samurai Warriors 4 will star 55 new and updated characters. New high-speed Hyper Attacks allow players to clear long distances quickly, and new finishing moves let players carve through crowds of enemies.

Players can participate in cooperative mode together across all three systems, and Cross-Save is also supported for all versions.

The PS3 and PS Vita versions of the game will be released exclusively on PSN in North America for $49.99 and $39.99 respectively. The PS4 version will cost $59.99.
