The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will release on February 24, 2015, developer CD Projekt Red announced today.
The studio made the announcement in its pre-E3 briefing, where it also announced that the game is available for pre-order now. It also showed off the trailer embedded below, which sets up Geralt of Rivia's quest and clash with the dangerous Wild Hunt.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's retail edition will include the game, a soundtrack CD, a world map, a "Witcher Universe" compendium, a set of stickers, and "stylish, protective sleeve".
The Collector's Edition will include all of that, plus a "33x24x26 cm (10"), 100% hand painted, Polystone figure of Geralt of Rivia battling a Griffin", a Witcher medallion, a SteelBook box.
The Witcher 3 was originally planned for release on PC, PS4 and Xbox One by the end of 2014, but in March CD Projekt delayed the open-world RPG to February 2015.
Pre-ordering through GOG.com will net The Witcher and The Witcher 2 owners a loyalty discount as well several other bonuses, including two keys to the PC/Mac version of The Witcher Adventure Game's closed beta.
The company said at the time: "The decision we made was difficult, thoroughly considered, and ultimately clear and obvious. We could have released the game towards the end of this year as we had initially planned. Yet we concluded that a few additional months will let us achieve the quality that will satisfy us, the quality gamers expect from us."
