Update: Following an earlier leak, EA has officially released a new Battlefield Hardline trailer which confirms a release date of October 21.
The trailer shows what appear to be several scenes from the game's single-player campaign including heists gone wrong, car chases, and shootouts.
Following numerous leaks in May, EA officially confirmed that Battlefield Hardline will be shown at E3 2014 on June 9. Dead Space studio Visceral Games is leading development of the shooter.
Hardline is set against the backdrop of "the war on crime and the battle between cops and criminals." Visceral VP Steve Papoutsis has also said the studio is "adding new twists and turns to the foundation of Battlefield multiplayer".
The campaign follows Nick Mendoza, a young Miami detective who is "caught in his own personal struggle between right and wrong". Nick is a former cop who embarks on a cross-country quest to get revenge on his ex-police partners who backstabbed him.
Each level in the campaign mode will be structured like a TV episode, complete with cliffhangers. The cast includes stars of shows such as Justified, The Americans and House of Cards.
EA could reveal more about the game at its E3 press conference next week, though at this point it may not have much new to share.
