Shin Megami Tensei IV will release in Europe in the third quarter of 2014, Atlus announced this week.
The demon-fighting RPG released in North America in July 2013, but Atlus reassured fans that the "unplanned hiatus" will not last much longer. The firm plans to self-publish the game in Europe for release exclusively on the 3DS eShop.
Pricing and DLC availability will be announced in the coming months.
The game is the first new entry in the main Shin Megami Tensei series since 2003. The long running franchise also spawned the popular Persona series.
You can see the game in action in a teaser trailer for its North American release embedded above. Here's Atlus' official synopsis of Shin Megami Tensei IV:
The story of SMTIV revolves around the Samurai, the sacred protectors of the Eastern Kingdom of Mikado. As a newly appointed Samurai, players will struggle with factions that have nefarious designs on the world as they defend Mikado from a growing army of demons flowing from the mysterious dungeon, Naraku. Decisions players make throughout the course of the story will have lasting repercussions, as the fate of the world hangs in the balance.
