Calls for a Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask remake for Nintendo 3DS have persisted since the release of Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, and Eiji Aonuma says he's heard them.
[E3 2014: All the news | All the Nintendo news | All the Sony news | All the Microsoft news | All the new Xbox One/PS4 games | All the videos and trailers]Aonuma, who oversees the Zelda series at Nintendo, addressed fans' desire for an updated take on the cult classic N64 title in an E3 Kotaku interview.
"I do know that fans want to see Majora's Mask," Aonuma said. "I've heard that voice, it's very, very strong, and I'm always listening."
When asked about the nod to Majora's Mask included in The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds - the titular mask hangs on the wall of Ravio's shop - Aonuma laughed and admitted he was maybe "toying with them a little."
"I'm doing everything I can," Aonuma added. "I hear the voices of the fans. There are so many out there. It's very loud, and just to acknowledge the fact that the need, the want is out there, I put that in there."
Aonuma debuted the first footage of Zelda Wii U during Nintendo's Digital E3 event on Tuesday, showing off a wide-open cel-shaded world and a bow-wielding Link coming in 2015.
