Respawn may be working on a 3rd person action game

Studio now employs at least nine staff members who have worked on God of War games

Respawn Entertainment may be working on a third person action game.

The studio is looking to hire staff across a range of disciplines as it grows following the successful launch of its debut game, Titanfall.

Available positions include a senior animator and senior character artist, both of whom are required to have experience "working on 3rd person action/exploration games".

It was confirmed earlier this week that God of War 3 game director Stig Asmussen is now working at Respawn.

Studio co-founder Vince Zampella said the former Sony Santa Monica lead is serving as game director at the studio and that he's "super excited to have him".

Asmussen has been with Respawn for a couple of months and confirmed last week that he's not working on Titanfall.

He left Sony in March after 11 years with Santa Monica, during which he served as lead environment artist on God of War, art director on God of War 2, and creative director on the third home console series entry.

A scan of Respawn's staff profile page reveals that at least eight current employees (excluding Asmussen) have previously worked on the God of War series, from artists to game designers.

Titanfall launched on Xbox consoles and PC earlier this year and Respawn is reported to be in the early stages of designing a sequel, which is also expected to be released on PlayStation platforms.

Last week, EA chief operating officer Peter Moore said Titanfall is the best-selling game on Xbox One lifetime to date.
