Batman Arkham Knight 'coming in January,' says voice actor

Kevin Conroy suggests Rocksteady's sequel will be out early next year

Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham Knight will be released in January 2015, according to voice actor Kevin Conroy.

Conroy, who is the iconic voice of Bruce Wayne and the Dark Knight in Batman: The Animated Series and the Rocksteady developed Arkham titles, mentioned the release window in an interview with Groovey.TV, which you can watch below (5:02).

"I have a massive game you might have heard of called Arkham Knight, a little indie game" he said, when asked what his current projects include.

"It was supposed to come out in January, we've been working on it for a year and a half and it's still not done. So it's going to come out next January."

Batman Arkham Knight was set to release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One later this year, until it was delayed to 2015. Publisher Warner Bros. has yet to officially announce a new Arkham Knight release date.

Conroy's statement may be in error, as he indicates that he believed the game was originally scheduled to be released in January 2014, despite the game only being announced in March 2014.

Warner Bros. said the following when asked for a statement: "Batman: Arkham Knight is scheduled for release in 2015."

The "explosive finale" to Rocksteady's Arkham trilogy takes place one year after the events of Arkham City, with Batman at the very peak of his powers, when a gallery of villains descend upon Gotham and team up to bring the Dark Knight down once and for all.

The main villain has been revealed as the Arkham Knight, a character unique to the game's universe that was created by Geoff Johns, writer of Green Lantern, Aquaman and Justice League.

The Arkham Knight character has been pitched as a rougher, more extreme, militarised version of Batman.
