Halo: The Master Chief Collection's updated version of Halo 2 will include story teases for Halo 5 Guardians.
Much like the terminals found across Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary that set up the events of Halo 4 from the perspective robotic archivist 343 Guilty Spark, terminals placed in Halo 2 Anniversary Edition will set up the events of Halo 5.
In this case, the stories will be told by the Arbiter, 343 Studios boss Bonnie Ross told Eurogamer.
Ross also confirmed that the live-action series that starts in The Master Chief Collection, Halo Nightfall, will detail the backstory of Agent Locke before his co-starring role in Halo 5.
Halo 5, in turn, will be roughly aligned with the currently untitled Halo television show produced by Steven Spielberg. Both are planned for launch in autumn 2015.
Scheduled for release on November 11 for Xbox One, Halo: The Master Chief Collection will include the single and multiplayer modes of Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo 3 and Halo 4. Each title will run at 60 frames per second at 1080p resolution.
