Sony's new PS4 pre-loading feature is now fully functional and ready for the first titles to take advantage of it.
In a statement of confirmation on Wednesday, SCEA affirmed that all games made available for pre-order via the US PlayStation Store on or after May 20 will be pre-load compatible. EU details are yet to be confirmed.
Pre-downloading essentially allows you to download and install a game ahead of its release date. This means you'll be able to start playing the game the instant it is released - pre-downloaded game files will remain locked until midnight of the game's official release date.
All users have to do is pre-order a game via the PlayStation Store, and leave their PS4 on standby mode when not in use. The console will automatically pre-download all pre-ordered titles ahead of launch without the user having to do anything further.
