Nintendo 64 likely coming to Wii U Virtual Console

Nintendo suggests titles will be added in the future

Nintendo has stated that various Nintendo 64 games could soon arrive on the Wii U Virtual Console.

The company has updated its Wii U Virtual Console page with a reference to N64 games.

It reads: "Check back regularly for the latest releases, including the future addition of titles from the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo 64 systems."

Nintendo's previous console, the Wii, featured Nintendo 64 Virtual Console games from day one, offering Super Mario 64 at launch.

However, to date the Wii U Virtual Console has yet to feature any N64 games. Instead, it mainly focuses on NES and SNES titles.

Game Boy Advance games were introduced to the Wii U Virtual Console on April 3 this year, with Advance Wars, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and Metroid Fusion added first.

Nintendo has also promised that DS games will be coming to the Wii U Virtual Console - last week Brain Training was made available to Wii U owners for free for a limited time.
