"A few ex-members of The Last Guardian team" are working on a new open-world adventure game, Vane, as part of a new Tokyo-based indie studio.
Formed earlier in 2014, Friend & Foe is a Tokyo-based outfit created after the members of its five-man team decided to break away from jobs at big publishers including Sony and EA.
"As many before us, we grew tired of working for big companies and chose instead to bet it all on pooling our talents and set out on the great indie adventure we always wanted," reads the studio's official site.
"We believe in extremely nimble game development, with self-funding and self-publishing our titles as far as possible."
Friend & Foe has announced two titles; open-world adventure game 'Vane', and 80's-set action arcade game 'Dangerous Men', both of which are being developed "in parallel".
"Dangerous Men is an action arcade game based on 80's buddy cop movies, featuring a city-wide explosionfest as detectives Mendoza & InsertNameHere literally jump from explosion to explosion to clear the city of the Punk Gang menace," explains the studio.
"Vane is a single-player game being developed by a few ex-members of The Last Guardian team. The game focuses on unraveling the mysteries of an unknown land via exploration, puzzle-solving and other features yet to be revealed, in an atmospheric and powerful setting."
The first screenshots of Vane are above, and there's more info on the official blog. No assets were released for Dangerous Men.
Vane is targeting "PC at first", and will be out "when it's done", according to the studio.
