Update: Towerfall and Strider will be made free to both EU and US PlayStation Plus subscribers in July, Sony has confirmed.
The critically acclaimed 2D multiplayer arena battle game and Capcom's classic-style sidescroller will headline July's Instant Game Collection offerings in both regions.
PS3 owners in July will be able to download Dead Space 3 and '2D action puzzler' Vessel. Vita owners will be treated to the bizarre 2D adventure game Doki Doki Universe in both regions, while the second Vita game will be LEGO Batman 2: DC Superheroes in Europe and Muramasa Rebirth in US. The EU PS Plus July showcase trailer is above, while the US trailer has been added at the bottom of this report.
Sony's new regimented Instant Game Collection release schedule comes into affect as of July 2, seeing six games (two each for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita) released each month and available for one month only.
This means all six of the aforementioned games will be released on July 2 and will remain available for free to PS Plus subs until August 2, when six new games will be rotated in.
As before, games that a PS Plus subscriber downloads during its free period will be able to access those games indefinitely, so long as they hold an active PS Plus subscription.
The following titles will be removed from the EU Instant Game Collection on July 2:
Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate
Trine 2: The Complete Story
Sly Cooper Thieves in Time
